If you have an IT provider who monitors your DMARC reports it is best practices to explicitly allow reports to be sent to their domain. To do this, the receiving domain must configure the following DNS record:

  1. Create a new DNS record
  2. Type: txt
  3. Name: *primarydomain.com*._report._dmarc.*externaldomain.com*
    • primarydomain.com should match your primary domain
    • externaldomain.com should match the external domain, such as your IT provider’s
  4. Content: v=DMARC1
